City Paper Short Film Contest! Entries Due Apr 24!

http://www.citypaper.com/promo/filmcontest.asp

From City Paper website:
We want to see your short film. We don't care what it's about, whether it features real people or animation, whether it’s a documentary or a sci-fi action thriller--as long as it's no more than five minutes long.

A grand prize winner will be announced and awarded a cash bounty; prizes will be awarded in other categories t.b.d. The initial batch of films will be screened by City Paper staff and final selections will be screened by local film gurus, who will help determine the awards. The winners, and maybe more, will be shown at a special public screening t.b.d.
Rules.

* Films must be no longer than five (5) minutes in total length.
* Director or producer must be a Maryland resident.
* Submissions will be excepted on DVD only (prize winners may be asked to submit a file in uploadable form).
* All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form.
* Members of the City Paper extended family (including freelance contributors) are ineligible to enter.
* Films accepted into the Maryland Film Festival, this year or in years past, are ineligible.
* Entries may be screened at least once for the public at the contest finale and/or hosted on citypaper.com for one year; otherwise, all rights remain with the filmmaker(s).
* Films containing content that could constitute an illegal act—such as harming animals—are ineligible. (We don’t want to have to agonize over whether or not to notify the police over an entry to a short-film contest.)

SUBMISSION FEE: There is a non-refundable $10 entry fee for each submission, due with submission, to help defray contest expenses.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: All submissions must be received by 5 p.m., Friday, April 24.
