1. What’s the last movie you loved and what was the last movie you hated?

"Shawn of the Dead" - very funny - comedy and horror with lost of zombies and blood. What's not to love?

I don't know of any movies I hated. If the movie doesn't grab me in the first 15 minutes then I don't watch the rest of it. I learned this in Screenwriting class at UCLA. Every movie needs to have a "hook" and set up the movie in the first 15 minutes. If it doesn't, the movie won't get any better.

2. What’s your guilty pleasure movie or TV show?

I won't watch anything with an "Idol" or "Friend" in it.

The only guilty pleasure was watching our TV show in Los Angeles and seeing it listed in the TV guide. Here's a clip from our show:

3. How’d you get into filmmaking?

We moved to Hollywood, CA in 1988 and wrote and produced our own TV show Jokesters for 12 years.

4. What’s your fave piece of gear?

You can never have too much FAKE blood!

5. What’s the one thing you’d warn a new filmmaker NOT to do on their first film?

Use the KISS Principle as in Keep It Simple Stupid. If you are doing a low or no budget film don't write in helicopter shots or million dollar special effects. It all starts with the script so write something you can handle especially if you are a first time director. Also as a director be able to admit you don't know how to do something. Rely on your crew and their expertise to make the shot work. Pretending you know everything when you don't just pisses off your crew and ruins on set morale.

Also, don't film a play, that's just boring and it doesn't use the medium of film properly.
